CEBU - Supt. Romeo Perigo says he has no regrets of being relieved from his post as Talisay City Police Station chief because relief or reassignment is normal in the police organization.
Perigo said he has, after all, exceeded his two years of tenure as police chief and is just thankful that the Talisay City government has given him full support during his stint there, especially during those “difficult times” when the controversial Joavan Fernandez figured in various controversies.
He said the record of the Talisay City Police Station can prove for itself, especially when it was rated number one by the police regional office because of the more than 80 percent crime solution efficiency rate in the city from 2006 to 2008.
Perigo said that during his stint, the police station acquired three more vehicles, gasoline, four computers, and recently, about P200,000 donation from Cebu first district Representative Eduardo Gullas for the repair of the police headquarters.
Gullas has also donated P1 million for an extension building of the police station.
“Marami… Marami silang ibinigay na suporta…and they will continue to support the police even after I am officially relieved from my post,” Perigo said.
Perigo also said that if given the chance, he would gladly accept the position as police chief in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao, considering that his wife comes from the place. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
