Argao fund drive generates P4,800
CEBU - The municipality of Argao was able to collect P4,800 in one donation box alone during the launching of the “4 Para 400” donation project last August 30 at the town’s Unity Plaza.
Vince Escario, overall artistic director of events, said that this is because of the “unbelievable support of Argawanons”.
As the title of the project suggests, a person can donate any amount that begins with four – either P4, P40, P400, P4,000; and so on and so forth.
A total of 80 donation boxes were placed in commercial establishments, schools, and barangay halls all over the municipality.
These boxes will be collected every two weeks to facilitate computation and bookkeeping of donations collected.
The project, initiated by Argao Mayor Edsel Galeos together with the 45 barangay captains, students, and members of the Parish Pastoral Council, is intended to raise funds for the town’s founding anniversary celebration from September 28 to 29.
