School building construction in 4th district 40% complete

CEBU – A report from the Cebu First Engineering District Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways received by Cebu fourth district Rep. Benhur Salimbangon disclosed that the school building construction project in his district is already 40 percent complete.

This was learned from Daanbantayan municipal officer Gregg Rubio who confirmed that the infrastructure project was started last August 1, this year.

Salimbangon is set to construct at least 30 classrooms worth more than P10 million this year out of his P70-million Priority Development Assistance Fund.

The project covers the construction of two-classroom buildings for the Tominjao National High School amounting to P952,000 and Agujo Elementary School worth P238,000; both in Daanbantayan.

In Medellin town, other projects include the repair of two-classroom buildings in Medellin Central School worth P238,000; in Panugnawan Elementary School worth P250,000; and in Curva National High School worth P952,000.

Construction includes a two-storey building with two classrooms for the Libaong National High School in San Remigio town and another in Kinatarcan National High School in Sta. Fe town, each worth P952,000.

Apart from these, there are still other school building projects in the fourth district that are now in the list of DPWH for this year’s construction. — Joy Kareen T. Saliente/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
