Cop's vehicle robbed

CEBU – A Toyota Lite Ace owned by a policeman assigned to the province was victimized by robbers while parked outside the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral last Saturday morning.

The unidentified men were able to open the van and stole cash and valuables as well as an issued firearm placed inside the Toyota Lite Ace of Insp. Allan Cuizon.

According to the spot report made by the Crime Against Property Desk head Sr. Insp. Michael Anthony Bastes, the robbers opened the vehicle with a false key while Cuizon was attending a wedding between 9:45 to 11:20 a.m.

Stolen was a Louie Vuitton bag owned by fellow law enforcer Insp. Menchie Gabod containing her service 9mm Beretta with serial number M19563Z along with magazine and ammunitions along with a Sony Ericsson cellular phone worth P2,800 and her PNP Identification Card.

The wife of Cuizon, Araceli Mercado also lost a brown bag containing P5,000 cash, valid IDs and credit cards.

Police are still putting the matter for follow up investigation and operation.
