Cabbie who slapped car washer stabbed to death

CEBU – A taxicab driver was stabbed dead in barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City by a carwash boy he reportedly slapped the previous night

Julius Geliangao, 38, a resident of Daclan Compound in barangay Labangon, was found bloodied, lying on his back by personnel of the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation at the bunkhouse of RP Corominas Compound in barangay Duljo-Fatima past 7 a.m. yesterday.

According to the report reaching Cebu City Police Office, personnel of the Mambaling Police Station and members of ERUF responded to the alarm after being informed by a certain Dante Zamora, an auto mechanic, that a cabbie was stabbed several times in his sleep by a car washer inside the said bunkhouse.   After an assessment made on the condition of the victim through his vital signs, ERUF personnel said that he was no longer responsive.

Zamora was only able to identify the carwash boy as a certain “Kulot”.

Fellow taxi driver Antonio Casipong, 41, narrated that Geliangao arrived at the garage Friday evening and was observed to be drunk.

Casipong said that it was Geliangao who ordered “Kulot” to buy a bottle of beer for him outside. But the suspect reportedly refused to run an errand for him as he still had some important chores to finish. With this, Casipong said that Geliangao slapped “Kulot”. It was also learned from Casipong that they were at the bunkhouse that night taking a rest while waiting for their shift.

Recovered from the crime scene were a 12-inch stainless knife and an improvised pointed object.

The body of Geliangao was taken to the Oriental Homes Funeral Parlor while a manhunt operation is conducted to arrest “Kulot”. — Ferliza C. Contratista/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
