SSS holds Pensioner's Day

CEBU - The Social Security Service will hold the annual Pensioner’s Day at SM City Cebu today in celebration of its 51st founding anniversary last September 1.

This year’s event will focus on providing medical services to the SSS beneficiaries aside from the gathering together of pension recipients.

Pensioners are required to pre-register at the SSS office so they will be given entry pass for the event today.

Yesterday, the office accommodated 250 registrants from Cebu province. The agency has prepared 400 slots today in case the number of registrants has increased.

At 10:30 a.m. today, the agency will start conducting free medical services and lectures regarding its programs, especially on medical concerns. Other concerns of SSS members will also be attended to tomorrow.

Having their entry passes, the recipients will also be served with their lunch and snacks. Fun games and raffle of prizes are also part of today’s event.

Yesterday, SSS conducted a medical mission at the Capitol Parish Church spearheaded by branch head Helen Solito.

The original anniversary of SSS nationwide was supposed to be held last September. 1. However, due to some problems, the celebration was delayed for three days. — Cressida Paula G. Delmo/LPM
