A string of criminal complaints were filed yesterday before the provincial prosecutor’s office by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency against a suspected drug pusher and his female cohort who were arrested last week in Minglanilla town.
Abner Alforque and Maria Gina de la Calzada, both of barangay Tulay, Minglanilla, were charged for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Alforque was arrested in a buy-bust operation in the afternoon of August 22 after he reportedly sold one pack of shabu to PDEA agent Intelligence Officer 1 Jason Cabataña who acted as a poseur-buyer.
After Alforque’s arrest, PDEA agents also saw De la Calzada allegedly repacking shabu inside Alforque’s house. PDEA agents recovered eight packs of shabu from Alforque, one pack from De la Calzada and several drug paraphernalia.
Cabataña said the operation stemmed from the information given to them by an informant last week. According to him, the informant told them about the illegal activities of Alforque.
Cabataña said he immediately referred the information to Intelligence Office 4 Julius Navales which resulted to the buy-bust operation. – Fred P. Languido/LPM
