Korean woman faces  child abuse  charges

-

A Korean woman was charged with 18 counts of child abuse before the court for allegedly forcing a 16-year-old female compatriot to have sex with her.

Assistant Cebu City prosecutor Mary Ann Castro has indicted Eun Wha Lee for violation of Section 10 of the Republic Act 7610 for allegedly sexually molesting a fellow Korean woman several times last year.

The victim, who is a fourth year high school in one of the universities in Cebu, said she and Lee, together with other Koreans, arrived in Cebu in March 2007 to pursue an English course.

According to the victim, Lee and the other Korean students stayed in a house that her parents rented somewhere in Banawa, Guadalupe.

The victim said her parents told her to share a room with Lee supposedly to help Lee, as they noticed that the accused is very lonely. However, sometime in June 2007, Lee allegedly forced her to have sex with her, like a man and woman do.

According to the complaint, Lee compelled the victim to have sex with her several times. But the victim said she was terrified with Lee’s behavior because the accused was already using sex instruments every time they have sex.

The victim said she kept her ordeal from her parents because of fear until they discovered it through her diary.

The victim said she and her parents moved to a new house somewhere in Bulacao to keep her away from the accused.

However, Lee allegedly keeps on bothering her in school, prompting her parents to seek a lawyer’s help and file charges. — Fred P. Languido/LPM
