Drugs seized from alleged pusher’s house

An undetermined amount worth of illegal drugs were seized by the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group from the house of a suspected drug pusher in barangay Bulacao yesterday dawn.

CAIDSOTG, a special police team composed of different units of the Cebu City Police Office led by Supt. Pablo Labra, raided the house of Christian Quidato but was snot able to arrest him.

One of the team leaders, Sr. Insp. George Ylanan, said Quidato is considered a Level 2 drug pusher who can dispose of over a kilo of shabu per week based on the information they gathered.

Quidato is also among the drug personalities on the city drug watchlist.

Armed with a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 17 Judge Silvestre Maamo Jr., police raided Quidato’s house after confirming the presence of the suspect and the drugs.

When police got there, they found the door was reinforced and they had to go a long way around to the back to use the backdoor and secure the surrounding areas.

“Naglisod mi dayon og sulod kay sikit-sikit ang mga konkretong balay lisod i-secure unya layo pa gyud sa main road ang balay, barricaded pa gyud ang pultahan,” Ylanan said.

By the time they got there Quidato had already escaped.

The police, accompanied by two barangay tanods, continued their search on the house and found ten plastic packs of different sizes all containing suspected shabu, several repacking bags and assorted drug paraphernalia.

They also found an empty magazine of a .45 cal. pistol and an empty shell of a 9mm cal. bullet.

Ylanan said the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory has yet to determine the weight and amount of shabu recovered.

Heightened anti-illegal drugs campaigns have driven the price of a deck of shabu from P100 to as high as P400, a police official said.  Edwin Ian Melecio/BRP
