The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group has joined the investigation into the robbery of a gas station in Liloan town, Cebu early Monday dawn that left two pump attendants dead.
This was confirmed by Liloan Police Station chief Ramon Ortiz after they exchange notes with CIDG investigators. Ortiz said they already identified possible culprits in the crime and are still inclined to believe an inside job angle.
Pump attendant Erwin Pacatan, 19, of Batuan, Bohol, was shot dead while Junie Andicoso, 16, of Canduman, Mandaue City, was stabbed dead by robbers who also escaped with P200,000 from the vault of the Beilin gas station in Looc, Poblacion, Liloan.
The security guard on duty, Junrey Tizon, also suffered stab wounds and was brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
Another pump attendant, Jose Kelly Quimson, who said he survived the ordeal by hiding under a bed, is presently under custody of the CIDG for questioning. He has denied any involvement in the crime.
Policemen of the Pilar Police Station in Camotes Island said a certain Clifford Lloveras, whose ID card was left at the crime scene, is willing to clear his name.
The vault was destroyed by the robbers using a wrench. Personnel of the Scene of the Crime Operations were still able to recover P3,237 from the vault.
Jane Sotellon, cashier of Beilin Gas Station, said the station has six employees, but only three pump attendants and the guard were working when the incident happened as the others had left around 10 p.m. Sunday. – Ramil Ayuman/BRP
