Two men were killed in separate shooting incidents in the towns of Sibonga and Tudela last Wednesday.
The first incident happened in barangay Lindogon, Sibonga, where a farmer was shot dead by an unidentified attacker at around 8 p.m.
Filex Artiaga, 40, sustained gunshot wounds to his back and neck that killed him instantly.
PO2 Ederlino Bacusmo of Sibonga Police Station said the victim was heading home from drinking with friends when an unidentified man approached him and shot him twice.
“Basin giatangan ni siya apan wala’y nakakita kun kinsa ang nagpusil kay gabii na man,” Bacusmo said, adding that police are still trying to determine the identity of the perpetrator and his motive.
Meanwhile, in sitio Hagotapay, barangay Puertobello, Tudela, Rolando Pediricos was also walking home with his wife and grandsons when an unidentified man shot him at around 9 p.m.
The 54-year-old carpenter sustained several gunshot wounds to the back and was also killed instantly.
Reports from Tudela Police Station revealed that the victim, together with his wife Juanita Pediricos and two grandsons, was walking home from the birthday party of his brother-in-law.
While they were traversing a path through a cornfield, a man followed them and shot the victim several times before fleeing.
