784 marijuana plants uprooted in Balamban

Police uprooted 784 fully-grown marijuana plants from a lot by a house in sitio Gapo, barangay Matun-og, Balamban town, the other day.

PO3 Jose Ranielito Villarino of the Balamban police said they were on patrol when they happened to pass by the house of a certain Danilo Son in a mountainous part of Matun-og and saw Son and some others running away as if alerted by their coming.

“Pag-abot didto dapit sa ila dapit sa kabukiran, nikalit lang siya ug dagan,” Villarino said.

This led curious policemen to inspect the area and they later found a huge number of cultivated marijuana plants surrounding the house of Son.  They entered the house and found two plastic bags, one containing marijuana seeds and the other dried leaves apparently ready for sale.

Villarino said charges will be filed against Son if he is arrested.

“Wala man gud ni maaktuhi,” Villarino said, but he added that they are certain Son cultivated the prohibited plants.  The confiscated plants are already under the custody of the Balamban Police Station.  Joy Kareen T. Saliente/BRP
