Fun run to kick off PNP transformation

-

The ten-year transformation roadmap of the PNP will be formally introduced by way of a fun run to be headed by PNP deputy director Jesus Versoza who will be visiting the region this June 19.

Versoza will be bringing with him the PNP Torch, likened to the symbolic Olympic torch, which will be passed on to Police Regional Office-7 director, Chief Supt. Ronald Roderos.

The fun-run will start at the Cebu IT Park, pass by barangay Mabolo going to the North Reclamation Area and end at the Cebu International Convention Center.

The fun-run will be joined by various police officials and police units in the region including the delegation of Police Regional Office-8 head by their regional director, Chief Supt. Abner Cabalquinto.

The formal passing and acceptance of the torch will be done at the Plenary hall of the CICC.

According to Roderos, there will be a press conference where the PNP’s ten-year roadmap will be introduced.

Roderos said this roadmap will become the PNP’s guide to excellence and true public service, modernization plan, additional personnel and logistics among others.

With the introduction of the roadmap, Roderos is expecting other stakeholders of peace and order and economic growth to have an idea how to help the PNP in its direction.

The torch will be passed on by Roderos to the regional director of Police Regional Office 13, the Caraga Region, and so on until it comes back to PNP Chief Avelino Razon Jr. before his retirement as the PNP Director in August.

The torch will be replicated from the regional level down to the smallest units of the police force so that all policemen may know the goal that the organization is heading to.     Edwin Ian Melecio/BRP
