Man injured in Pardo shooting
A man was wounded after two motorcycle-riding men shot him while he was standing beside the road in sitio Kauswagan, barangay Basak-Pardo yesterday morning.
Police identified the victim as Joebert “Amang” Sanico, 20, a resident of sitio Tabucanal, barangay Pardo.
According to Homicide Section investigator SPO2 Rey Cuyos, Sanico was standing at the roadside when two men onboard a yellow motorcycle stopped five meters away from him.
The man seated at the back of the driver approached him and shot him several times for no apparent reason.
Sanico was first hit in the right leg. When the gunman saw he was limping, he again fired at Sanico. This time, he was hit at the right side of his body. The bullet exited at the left side of his torso.
The gunman hurriedly went back to his waiting companion and sped off.
Rennie Cañada, a clinical instructor of the University of the Visayas, helped the responding policemen in taking the victim to the
Pardo policemen recovered five empty shells of .45 caliber bullets, three deformed slugs, and a slug at the crime scene.
Homicide investigators learned that the victim is allegedly involved in petty robberies in the area but could not yet ascertain the veracity of the report. — Edwin Ian Melecio/MEEV
