Black Suede scandal VSMMC to seek NBI’s aid in tracking video uploader

-

The Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center management wants the National Bureau of Investigation to examine the controversial video footage of the operation on a florist to remove a canister from his rectum and determine who was responsible for the recording and who really made fun of the patient.

VSMMC medical director Gerardo Aquino is expected to file at the NBI today a formal request for investigation on the matter. Eleodoro Mongaya, the hospital’s public information officer, said that management officials will go to the NBI for the purpose right after the flag-raising ceremony.

Mongaya said the NBI must look into who was responsible for uploading the video to the YouTube website in the Internet, and conduct an examination to determine who really was culpable for the incident.

The earlier reports that a student doctor uploaded the video was not yet official, said Mongaya.

Mongaya said it would be unfair to the doctors for being prejudged by the public on the incident even if they succeeded in the medical procedure.

The medical team that did the operation, as named by the Department of Health, consisted of Philip Arias, head surgeon; Angelo Alinawagan, assisting surgeon; Max Joseph Montecillo, surgeon at an adjacent operating table; nursing attendant Rosamarie Villareal, and circulating nurse Carmenia Sapio. — Fred P.
