1 killed, 2 hurt in Sambag I shooting

A minor was killed while two others were injured in a shooting incident at dawn the other day in sitio San Roque, barangay Sambag I.

Police investigators of the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office identified the slain victim as 17-year-old boy while those hurt as Noel Labines, 30, married, and Kenneth Labiaga, 18.

According to the investigation, the three who are allegedly members of a gang were with their other friends when the incident happened.

While they were walking, two unidentified men shot them several times.

The minor was hit at the right side of his body, while Labines and Labiaga sustained wounds on their hands.

After the shooting incident, the assailants left the area onboard a taxicab that was reportedly waiting for them, and headed to V. Rama Avenue.

The Mobile Patrol Group immediately responded to the call for police assistance and rushed the victims to the Cebu City Medical Center. However, the minor was declared dead on arrival.

Labines and Labiaga are now recuperating at the hospital.
