Thieves run away with Globe cable wire

 A security guard saw them but failed to catch the thieves who stole a 20-meter cable wire from the satellite station of Globe Telecommunications Company on Malinao Street at barangay Agujo in Daanbantayan the other day.

The police said the theft was discovered at almost 2 a.m. when the company’s security guard made his routine check around the area.

Security guard Reynaldo Misa told Daanbantayan Police investigators that he saw at least five men already inside the compound and were already cutting off the cable wire.  He did not accost the thieves but called up the police instead.

It was futile though, he said, claiming that nobody from the police station answered his call.

He returned to the scene but hid himself at a distance safe from the thieves’ notice, hoping to see their faces and identify them.   Again it came to nothing because the thieves were no longer there, taking with them the cable wire, estimated to cost P5,000.  — Garry B. Lao/RAE
