Suroy-Suroy shifts to Camotes Island

After the successful Suroy-Suroy Sugbo 2008 northern escapade last week, the tourist caravan will be heading to Camotes Island.

The trip, labeled as “Discover Enchanting Camotes,” will be on May 24 and 25, 2008.

Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, together with the mayors of the four municipalities of Camotes and the representatives of the resorts, attended the meeting for this upcoming Suroy-Suroy.

The Camotes leg of the trip was originally set for May 10 and 11, but due to the busy schedule of the governor it was moved to May 24 and 25.

Four beach resorts in the island are set to be visited, these are the Mangodlong Beach Resort, Santiago Bay Beach Resort, My Little Island Resort and Portabillo Bay Resort.

A total of 81 rooms accommodating a maximum of 180 persons have already been reserved.

The trip will start as early as 6:30 a.m. on May 24.

After arriving via fastcraft in Tudela, the guests will be taken to the Bukilat Cave.

From there the party will go to Poro to spend the night.

The following day, the party will have their tour of Poro and will attend a Mass in Pilar.  In every destination, every municipality will have a presentation that is unique to that place.

The organizers also prepared a beach volleyball game during the tour.

Garcia said that it will be the first time in the Suroy-Suroy Sugbo that they will feature a sporting event.
