Fratman arrested for robbery

A member of Alpha Kappa Rho who is wanted for robbery two years ago was arrested by members of the Theft and Robbery Section of the Cebu City Police Office in sitio Bato barangay Ermita Friday afternoon.

Police identified the suspect as Bryle Panuncia, a resident of the place who has been wanted for robbing a certain Rose Plaza.

His companion in the robbery, Justil Flores, was arrested last December 31 and is now detained at the Cebu City Jail in barangay Kalunasan.
On May 25, 2006, Panuncio and Flores reportedly robbed Plaza of her Chinese gold bracelet worth P12,000.

A warrant of arrest for robbery was issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 10 Judge Soliver Peras against the two. Peras also set a bail of P100,000 for each of the suspects for their temporary liberty.

The group of SPO4 Alejandro Lopez, SPO4 William Alicaba, SPO2 Armil Coloscos, SPO2 Genilo Veraque and PO1 Rommer Varona received reports about Panuncia’s presence in sitio Bato, prompting them to immediately conduct the operation.

At the Cebu City Police Office detention cell, Panuncia denied involvement in the robbery and pointed to his friend as the one who robbed Plaza.
He also denied hiding after being tagged in the robbery, saying that he is innocent of the crime. - Edwin Ian Melecio/LPM
