During his press conference, Osmeña admitted that the highway, which was the project of his cousin and former Cebu Governor Lito Osmeña, passes through a relatively unstable area.
“But what is so unusual and beneficial to that road is that it crosses no river or bridge,” the mayor said.

But damages on the portions of the road were noticed recently, bringing up questions whether the highway is still safe for passing vehicles.
Businessman Roberto Aboitiz has requested the DPWH last March 13 to immediately undertake repairs of the road before its conditions get worse.
