A man suspected to be involved in several homicide cases was shot dead in Carcar City yesterday morning.
The victim was identified as Joey Matadero, 36, a resident of P. Burgos St., barangay Poblacion II, Carcar City.
According to PO3 Dante Ramas of the Carcar City Police Station, the victim faced a string of homicide cases before the sala of Regional trial Court Branch 10 Judge Soliver Perras but he was able to post bail.
Police said yesterday, Matadero was walking home from the house of a friend when an unidentified man approached him when he passed by sitio Tapon, barangay Poblacion II, and shot him in the head and the back, killing him instantly.
Residents who heard the gunshots immediately called up the police, but the assailant was no longer around when the lawmen arrived. The motive behind the killing has yet to be established. – Princess Mondejar /BRP
