Gwen blasts councilor for “asking too much”
Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia gave San Remigio municipal councilor Antonio Villamor a tongue lashing during the town’s consultative assembly yesterday.
Villamor asked for a building for the town’s livelihood training center after the provincial government donated P1 million for the completion of the town’s birthing center.
“Akoa na lang g’yod ning pahimuslan ang higayon,” was the statement made by Villamor that got the ire of the governor.
Prior to that, Villamor presented several programs of works for a four-foot bridge and a building for a training center even if the town has just received P1 million from the province for the birthing center, four welding machines and five hi-speed sewing machines for said livelihood training center.
“Bag-o pa gani naghatag ang probinsiya og one million, mangayo na sad ka og building? Unsa may sunod ana? Yuta? Ayaw sad ko ninyo’g pahimusli kay dili ra baya kamo ang akong giserbisyohan,” the angry governor said in front of the town’s 27 barangay captains and other officials.
When the tension subsided, Garcia said she will call for an “Electricity Summit” so that the mounting complaints of power consumers in the province could be addressed. — Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon/MEEV
