The manifesto against corruption to be signed by Cebuanos will be sent to Malacañang and the Senate, Dilaab Foundation overall coordinating steward Fr. Carmelo Diola said yesterday.
Dilaab Foundation, a group formed solely to fight all forms of graft and corruption, launched the signature campaign the other day to “create a corruption-intolerant nation”.
Diola said they hope their present drive will exceed the 60,000 signatures gathered during the move against the impeachment of former chief justice Hilario Davide.
According to the introduction of the signature campaign, corruption is stealing and is against God’s will. It demanded the whole truth be told about the ZTE case based on the testimony of Rodolfo Lozada and other whistleblowers as well as the persecution of those found guilty.
It also called for the timely resolution to high profile cases like the extra-judicial killings and forced disappearances, Commission on Elections computerization, the “Hello Garci” scandal and the Bolante fertilizer scam.
At the local level, issues involving the ASEAN lampposts, shabu lab cases, vigilante killings and rampant smuggling were also prayed to be solved.
