A 17-year-old girl was stabbed 12 times before she was raped in her house at barangay Prinsa, Balamban town, last February 14.
She survived the harrowing ordeal and is now in stable medical condition despite her continued trauma, police said based on the reports of the physicians at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
Police Officer 2 Hannibal Larida, in an interview over DyDD-Bantay Radyo, said the alleged perpetrator, 43-year-old Sergio Milan, was already arrested and charges are already prepared for filing against him.
Police said since that afternoon of February 14, Milan had been inquiring from neighbors if the girl was alone in the house of her grandmother, where she had been staying with her two younger cousins since her parents separated.
The grandmother was not around that day and left the girl and her cousins in the house. At night while they were already sleeping, Milan, who was reportedly drunk, forced himself into the house and tried to rape her.
The victim tried to resist and fight back but Milan stabbed her many times with a knife, causing her to lose consciousness. This gave Milan the chance, and he succeeded in raping her, the police report said.
“Nakamata ang mga ig-agaw sa biktima apan wala makatabang kay bata pa man. Hinuon nakapangayo sila og tabang,” Larida said. — Garry B. Lao/RAE
