2 injured in SRP mishap

At least two persons landed in the hospital after the motorcycle they were riding on their way home to barangay Mambaling crashed at the South Road Properties yesterday afternoon.

City Traffic Operation Management enforcer Dante Capio identified the victims as Rogelio Almeria, 43, and his relative Maricel Cabras, 37, both residents of sitio Tugas, San Roque in barangay Mambaling.

Capio told The Freeman that the two were heading home at a high speed from Talisay City when the motorcycle crashed after accidentally hitting the gutter of the center island.

Due to the strong impact of the crash, the victims were thrown out of the motorcycle and hit the center island.

The Freeman photographer Paul Jun Rosaroso, who happened to pass by the area, saw the victims slumped on the ground bloodied, and promptly called up the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation.

The victims were rushed by ERUF personnel to Cebu City Medical Center where they are still undergoing medical observation. - Edwin Ian Melecio/LPM
