Four unidentified men gunned down a 40-year-old shoemaker in sitio Lomboy, barangay Liboron, Carcar City, last Wednesday night.
Police identified the victim as Leo Bardilas who was killed after sustaining four gunshot wounds to the head, back and left leg.
Witnesses said the victim was playing computer games at about 7 p.m. in one of the Internet cafes store when the assailants appeared and one of them shot him four times before fleeing the scene.
The victim was rushed to the Carcar District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
“Kalit lang naabot ang upat nga nagtaptap sa ilang nawong ug niduol sa nahimutangan sa biktima dayong pusil,” the witness said.
Responding policemen SPO1s Oscar Cantay, Marlon Cortes ands Socrates Familgan, PO3s Vicente Garces and Teodore Fuentes and PO2 Joville Bacarias recovered three empty shells and one deformed slug of a .45 cal. pistol.
While investigators are looking into a grudge as the motive behind the incident, they also said it may have something to do with illegal drugs considering that Liboron is allegedly a drug-infested barangay. — Garry B. Lao/BRP
