Jealous mans stabs live-in partner dead

A peddler of beauty products was stabbed dead by her live-in partner due to jealousy in his house in barangay Inayagan, Naga City, last Thursday night.

The victim, Jennifer Regis, 25, was allegedly stabbed to death by Henry Tapic, 26, after she went home late.

A relative of Regis said that Tapic was at a waiting shed in Inayagan at about 10 p.m. that night.  When she arrived they started to have an argument.

They went home and continued arguing for an hour until the fight turned violent and Tapic choked the victim rendering her helpless before stabbing her in the abdomen with a kitchen knife.

Regis and Tapic have been living together for almost six years now and have a six-year old son living with Regis’ parents.  Tapic has been jobless for six years now and is allegedly a drug user.

“Insecure man gud si kuya ni ate kay wala siya’y trabaho unya gibuhi ra pud siya ni ate,” said the relative, who also added her frequently coming home late often started their fights.

Early morning yesterday Tapic approached barangay tanod Jack Villareal and confessed what he did and that he did not mean to do it.

“Iyang unang gisumbungan si Jack.  Miingon ingon siya nga nawala siya sa panimo-ot, mao iyang nadunggab si Jennifer,” one of the relatives of Regis said.

Tapic was later taken to the Naga City police.

At the police station, Tapic’s face and arms were found full of scratches and cuts because of his fight with Regis.   — Garry B. Lao/BRP
