Gwen vows P1M for ABC projects

Governor Gwendolyn Garcia yesterday promised to give P1 million to the Association of Barangay Councils for its projects.

Garcia made the announcement in her imprompty speech during the ABC-Cebu election at the Capitol Social Hall.

“Gamita ninyo ang among salapi sa mga proyekto nga mubalik gayud ngadto sa katawhan kay ang maong salapi, ilaha man sad na gikan. Lig-onon ta ang pagsalig sa katawhan nga ni-too sa atong paningkamot,” she told the barangay captains who attended the election.

The election, meanwhile, resulted in the reelection of Boljoon bet Teresita Celis who got all 43 votes of the barangay captains who cast their votes. 

Jose Rebumapil “Joey Boy” Holganza, Jr.  of Bantayan won as vice president with the same votes, as well as Domingo Carungay of Alcoy who won as auditor.

Celis thanked her colleagues for giving her another mandate, her third, which put her again as an ex-officio member of the Provincial Board.

The new board of directors, elected without opposition, are: Mercedita Apura of Carcar City (42 votes), Joseph Redula of Alegria (41 votes), Juanito Puspus of  Santander (40 votes), Elmer Teleron of Barili (41 votes), Jose Brainard Mayol of Bogo (42 votes), Leo Salundaguit of Liloan (41 votes), Greman “Jojo” Solante of Tudela (43 votes) and Analee Gungob of Consolacion
