For the fifth time, the Firearms, Explosives and Security Agencies Guards Supervisory Section-7 bested 15 other FESAGSS offices in the country.
The said office that is under the Police Regional Office-7 was adjudged by the Civil Security Group of the Philippine National Police as the “Best FESAGSS Office of the Year”.
The competition is based on administrative and operational aspects.
According to Supt. Anthony Obenza, deputy chief of the Regional Police Community Relations Division of the PRO-7, the FESAGSS-7 headed by Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas was recognized for its exemplary performance in the implementation of existing laws on firearms, explosives and supervision of security guards and their agencies.
The efforts that FESAGSS-7 has manifested have contributed in generating revenues for the government to the satisfaction of its stakeholders.
During the 27th founding anniversary celebration of the Civil Security Group at Camp Crame last October 22, the award was handed over to Lawas by Negros Occidental Rep. Ignacio “Iggy” Arroyo Jr. who was guest of honor and speaker.
The award was bestowed to the FESAGSS-7 the fifth time (2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007) and that the last three awards were garnered under the command of Lawas. — Edwin Ian Melecio/MEEV
