Colleague steps into row between 2 police officials
Bohol Provincial Police Office director Eduardo Ingking and Regional Investigation Detective Management Division chief Arturo Evangelista have patched things up during a meeting called by Deputy Regional Director for Administration Sr. Supt Federico Terte in his office yesterday.
Terte said there was just a miscommunication between the two police officials that’s why he called them to a meeting to settle the issue.
“Nagkaroon ng konting problema pero ayos na, wala nang problema silang dalawa. Ipinatawag ko na sina Ingking at Evangelista para ayosin lahat, nakita nyo nagkamayan ang dalawa,” Terte said.
The conflict against the two police officials started after Ingking filed grave misconduct and dishonesty complaints against Evangelista before the National Police Commission.
Ingking complained that Evangelista’s report submitted to former PRO-7 director Silverio Alarcio Jr. damaged the good image of the BPPO and has demoralized its members.
Ingking claimed that Evangelista pointed out six lapses concerning the operation leading to the arrest of the Casimero Garcia robbery group based on newspaper reports.
Evangelista also allegedly lied when he claimed that he created the Bohol Tourist Police when it was launched in 2001 during the term of former BBPO director Sr. Supt. Sancho Bernales.
Now that the conflict between the two officials has been settled, Terte said he would appeal before the Napolcom not to endorse to the Office of the President the case that Ingking filed against Evangelista.
Terte said they are just like brothers since they belong to the police service, adding that Ingking was really hurt with what Evangelista had said but he explained that they differ in perception.
However, Terte clarified that the PRO-7 will validate if indeed Ingking committed some lapses, saying that he also advised Evangelista to be careful with his statements.
Terte said he hopes that the conflict between Ingking and Evangelista will serve as a lesson among police officials. — Flor Z. Perolina/LPM
