Cop mistaken for robber clobbered
A policeman assigned to the Police Regional Office-7 was brought to the hospital after being mistaken for a robber and attacked when he entered a family compound brandishing his service firearm in barangay Bungtod,
PO3 Allan Dosdos of Bogo police station said tricycle driver Renante Crodua, 31, came to their police station and reported he had just disabled and disarmed a drunk man who allegedly entered their family compound.
Crodua said the man, later identified as PO2 Randy Villegas, a resident of barangay Pulangbato,
When the man had fallen to the ground, Crodua disarmed him and bound him with rope. He then reported the incident to the police and surrendered to them the .9mm pistol, two magazines as well as 21 additional rounds he took from Villegas.

Dosdos said when he asked Villegas why he was bringing his service firearm during the time of incident the policeman denied he had it with him.
