Two cousins landed in the hospital after they were shot by two unidentified men who waylaid them and fled with their motorcycles in sitio Awihaw, barangay Sta. Rosa, Danao City Friday night.
Angelino Capuno, 46, and his cousin Leonardo, 35, both residents of Almendras Street in barangay Poblacion, told the Danao City police that they were in sitio Awihaw during that night to attend a fiesta celebration.
Because the victims parked their motorcycles in nearby barangay Quisol, they had to walk back to the place after attending the celebration. But as they were about to get onboard their motorcycles, two men stopped them.
One of the men who wore a mask began shooting at them with an undetermined caliber of firearm.
Angelino was hit in his right chest and left shoulder, while Leonardo was hit in his left shoulder and left forearm. The two men then took their motorcycles and sped away.
The victims were rushed to the Danao City District Hospital, but were later transferred to the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
The Danao City police are now conducting a follow-up investigation into the incident. — Flor Z. Perolina/MEEV
