SSS launches enhanced landline inquiry system
The Social Security System recently launched an enhanced version of its Interactive Voice Response System, a landline phone-based inquiry system that will provide members with information regarding their contributions, loan payments, and benefit eligibility.
The IVRS was initially implemented in the 1990s, but was discontinued because the system was non-Y2K compliant. It was eventually replaced by a manned telephone brigade, which services members in the Metro Manila area.
Now the said IVRS facility is brought to
Through the enhanced IVRS, members can conveniently check their SSS records and the status of their loan and benefit applications without the need to go to an SSS office.
The member simply calls the toll-free phone number assigned to their area and an interactive voice prompt will guide them through the inquiry system.
However, it is important that the member has his/her SSS number on hand as this shall be required to access his/her records.
The IVRS is also available toll-free for Globeline subscribers outside of Metro Manila by calling NCR through 917-7777. — Jasmin R. Uy/MEEV
