Man mauled then robbed

-

A man was brought to the Minglanilla District Hospital after he was mauled and robbed by three men last Wednesday afternoon at the Pakigne Bridge in Minglanilla town.

Based on the investigation conducted by Minglanilla police, the victim, identified as Henjie Alquizola, 23, a resident of the said place, was riding his bicycle on his way to buy something when the men waylaid him when he reached Pakigne Bridge.

One of the suspects, identified as Mark Dilgra, a resident of sitio Kalubihan, barangay Calajoan, Minglanilla, first confronted him then two other men came in from behind and one of them tried to grab Alquizola’s bracelet worth P24,000.

When the victim resisted, Dilgra and his accomplices mauled him and took his bracelet before they ran off.

An informant called up the police who responded to the alarm and arrested Dilgra.

A robbery case has already been filed against Dilgra, however the police have yet to identify his two companions. — Flor Z. Perolina/BRP
