Man stabbed dead in Barangay Luz

An altercation between two men Friday night had been quieted down but hours later, or by Saturday dawn, the protagonists met and one of them stabbed dead the other just beside a basketball court at sitio San Roque, barangay Luz.

Police homicide investigators said the victim was 33-year-old Jechorias “Vicvic” Gador, a resident of sitio Lubi of the same barangay while the suspected killer was Ronron Capin, a resident of sitio San Roque.

PO3 Henry Orbiso, who led the investigators, said Gador was sitting near the basketball court when Capin arrived and, without any word, stabbed the victim once in the chest.

Gador slumped dead on the ground and residents quickly took him to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center but the attending physician declared him already dead.

Capin fled from the crime scene and is now the subject of a manhunt by the police.

The police recovered from the scene two kitchen knives, one of which was believed to be the murder weapon.

A tanod, Manolito Gilamon, who also responded to the alarm, turned over to the police an improvised bow and arrow, locally known as Indian pana, and five arrows that he said he found from the area earlier. — Edwin Ian Melecio/RAE
