Changes in command will be expected in some police stations in different towns of Cebu as 11 police officials are reporting back to service after finishing their schooling in public safety officers' basic course at the Regional Training School.

Provincial police chief Carmelo Valmoria yesterday said that there will be changes in command in the police stations of 13 towns here in Cebu province led by police chiefs who are only SPO4s.

These 13 police stations are in Asturias, Pinamungajan, Oslob, Alcoy, Borbon, Ronda, Badian, Malabuyoc, Pilar, Madridejos, Poro, San Francisco and Liloan.

The changes in assignments can only be implemented right after the end of the election period this coming June 13.

He said that he planned to consider the 11 police inspectors who have finished their schooling for their promotions to rank of senior inspector.

For now, the CPPO will create a board to evaluate the performances of each police chief and the board and their assignments.

The board will be headed by Supt. Herman Lungayan Jr., deputy provincial director for administration, with some personnel from the operations, investigation and intelligence units as members of the board.

Valmoria made the plan as he expects request for new police chiefs with the assumption of some new mayors in towns.

Valmoria also urged police chiefs who have been rejected by their mayors to stay put in their present assignments as they will be held responsible for contempt if they fail to report to their respective assignments.

Last Month, the CPPO implemented a revamp in some police stations here in the province with a clearance from the Commission on Election en banc after some of them were found already overstaying in their respective assignments.

Meanwhile, Valmoria also said that he will commend all his personnel who have contributed to the conduct of peaceful elections here in the province.

Valmoria said that the election here in Cebu province was assessed to be generally peaceful compared to other provinces in the country.

"I am very proud of my personnel for the immeasurable efforts that they have done during the election period despite the limited number of personnel which is worth of emulation," Valmoria said.  - Flor Z. Perolina/BRP
