MISSING PIECE OF CHEESE. A group of friends went to an upscale restaurant serving fine wines and they ordered a cheese wheel to go with it. Imagine their surprise when the cheese arrived with one missing wedge. They asked the waiters and waitresses what happened to the missing wedge, as there were an even number of them and someone would not be able to taste the cheese. That plus the cheese was not cheap.
THE "BUTLER" DID IT. But the food attendants kept saying that the missing piece can no longer be found and "may have been thrown out". Some in the group of friends surmised that the missing cheese wedge may have been eaten by the food attendants of the same restaurant or they habitually take cheese wedges of out wheels so they can make an extra wheel for every six "wheels" they sell. A source confirmed some upscale restaurants, like the small-time counterparts, actually skim food to make ends meet.
