Bise Gob. Sanchez pabor sa eleksiyon sa barangay

- Ni Guamitos Logroño -

Membership of around 900 men to the Barangay Intelligence Network had been revoked yesterday, according to a memorandum from the City Police Theft and Robbery Section.

Section head, Chief Inspector Alexis  Relado, ordered the revocation of all membership to the network under his office because of persistent reports that some of them were allegedly involved in some illegal activities.

This matter would greatly affect the integrity of his office, Relado said so these reports must be investigated and verified first.

Pending the results of the probe, Relado deemed it proper to suspend the special services and membership of the BIN with his section.

All identification cards, patrol orders and appointment papers that had been issued to the network members were considered revoked and no longer in effect, starting yesterday, he said warning that any use of these documents is thus illegal.

Relado announced however that there will be a new group under the TRS to be known as CITAR, or Concerned Informants Against Theft and Robbery.

There will be a one-week seminar for the first batch of qualified applicants for CITAR, and its scheduled will be posted soon after the approval of City Police director Patrocinio Comendador.

The TRS had been bugged by problems about alleged abuses of BIN members, including the report that a member was reportedly hired as a goon of a politician in northern Cebu during the recent elections.

Last month, Relado filed robbery with physical injuries charges against Rogelio Badiang, Cresente Ricaplaza and Rey Bayabado, who were BIN members from Pardo assigned at the TRS office.

The case was filed after a certain Ricky Niala filed a complaint in the TRS that the three allegedly beat him up and took his P7,000-worth wristwatch and the silver bracelet of his companion, in barangay Calamba. — Flor Z. Perolina/RAE
