For punching his son, a man bludgeoned his 74-year-old neighbor to death Sunday afternoon in Lower Phase III, barangay Tisa.
The suspect, who peacefully surrendered to a policeman living in the area, was identified as Loreto Racho, 41, while the victim was identified as Marcelino Longakit.
PO3 Rogelio Nedamo of the Homicide Section said Longakit was on his way to his farm to feed his birds when being waylaid by Racho.
Nedamo said Racho then asked Longakit why he punched his son, Raffy, who sustained several injuries in his right eye.
But when the victim replied that he punched Raffy for teasing him "upaw-upaw," the suspect reportedly drew out a bladed weapon and stabbed him in the chest twice.
Relatives rushed the victim to the Cebu City Medical Center where he was declared dead by the attending physician.
