A fire destroyed five houses in St. Jude Subdivision, Phase 1, Gumamela Street, Bulacao, Cebu City, last night. As of last night no one was reported hurt or killed in the incident.
Firemen received the alarm around 7:58 last night after barangay councilman Romeo Alih saw smoke coming out of the house of Vivian Villaluz who owns V-Joy Catering Services.
No one was in the house at the time as Villaluz and her workers had a catering job last night. The fire spread to and destroyed the nearby houses of Villaluz''s neighbors Lani Cañete, Winston Lee, Risa Saberon, Alex Islawan before firemen arrived and placed it under control.
Aside from the houses, Villaluz''s Honda Civic, Isuzu Crosswind and a motorcycle were lost to the fire. The total damage has not been set.
Fire investigator SFO1 Frank Doñoso said they have yet to determine the cause of the fire, but for now signs point to faulty electrical wiring. - Flor Z. Perolina/BRP
