Man shoots friend dead over argument

A man killed his friend after an argument along a road in sitio Anahaw, barangay Buhisan, Cebu City, last Saturday night.

John Joseph Ferolino, 23, a jobless bachelor residing in sitio Nazareth of the same barangay, was killed on the spot after sustaining a gunshot wound to the right cheek and left armpit.

Homicide investigator PO3 Henry Estoy said that Ferolino earlier left his house and told his live-in partner that he will go to the house of his friend, Kenneth Tanelon, in sitio Anahaw.

Shortly after arriving at Tanelon’s house, Ferolino was seen leaving the place together with Tanelon and an unidentified man.

Witnesses said that while the three were walking, they overheard Ferolino and Tanelon getting into an argument. Tanelon allegedly pulled out a gun from his waist and shot Ferolino dead then left the scene with the other man.

The police are now looking for them.

In another development yesterday morning, a construction worker was hit by a stray bullet while standing at a waiting shed along Osmeña Boulevard.

Romeo Soreño, 30, a resident of barangay Sambag II, was hit on the right side of his body. It was the responding policemen of the Mobile Patrol Group who took him to the Cebu City Medical Center.

According to the victim, he was waiting for a ride when he overheard two men arguing over a lost cellphone nearby.
