Victim left house Monday night: Young man found dead inside his car

- Ramil V. Ayuman -
A young businessman, who has been missing since Monday night, was found dead inside his car yesterday morning in Mandaue City.

The victim was identified as Jayvee Paray Chang, 22 years old of Mambaling, Cebu City. He was engaged in the buy and sell business and also in auto repair.

His mother, Bea, reported to National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Regional Director Medardo de Lemos Tuesday that Jayvee has been missing since he left the house Monday night.

The young businessman reportedly asked permission to leave the house and meet somebody, but wasn't anymore able to return home prompting the mother to seek help from the NBI.

De Lemos is a friend of the Chang family.

Enforcers from TEDMAN, the traffic authority of Mandaue City, were the ones who spotted Chang's car with plate number YEG-719, parked along the highway near a bank.

The blue Honda Civic, which is heavily tinted, was reportedly parked there since Tuesday night. What really prompted the enforcers to report the matter to the police was when they saw what they believed was blood oozing out of the vehicle.

Operatives of the Mandaue City Police Office rushed to the scene and coordinated with the NBI and operatives of the Regional Intelligence and Investigation Division.

Chang was found slumped at the backseat of the car and authorities believe he was dead for about 24 hours when found since his body was already starting to decompose and was a bit bloated.

The victim, who wore a pair of short pants and a shirt, bore two gunshot wounds on his body.

Recovered from the car

was an empty shell of a cal. 45 and a knife.

De Lemos said that his office coordinated with the intelligence operatives of the Police Regional Office -7 when they were informed that Chang was missing.

He however said that there was no threat to the life of the young man based on the knowledge of the family.

The NBI is now inviting the friends of Chang to come forward and help shed light about the death of the victim.

He however brushed aside speculations that the case has something to do with a love triangle since it is too early to speculate. - (/NLQ)
