CSC wants reports of all casual workers

The Civil Service Commission wants all its offices to submit status reports of all temporary and casual employees for their continuous evaluation.

CSC head Karina Constantino-David issued Office Memorandum 19-2007 directing all heads of CSC Regional Offices to provide information on casual, contracts of service, job order and detailed personnel in line with the agency’s efforts in reviewing its policies on hiring personnel and staffing of all regional and field offices.

This is also to evaluate on whether the type of job is needed or is already filled or performed by another position.

The CSC wants to be rid of redundant positions, therefore saving the agency’s budget.

The review and evaluation of staffing will help in the formulation of other needed policies.

Included in the information needed are the kind of appointment, period of appointment, daily salary, source of funds, actual assignment, justifications for hiring, justification for detailed personnel.

"Offices which fail to submit the information shall not be allowed to issue renewal of casual appointments, contracts of services or job orders," David said.
