At least P20,000 in cash and a motorcycle were taken at gunpoint from a collector of a finance firm by a lone robber at sitio Dungu-an, barangay Perrelos, Carcar town, last Thursday afternoon.
The victim, 21-year-old Jonas Ali, a resident of Mabolo in Cebu City and a collector of Libcan Financing Corporation also in Mabolo, reported the robbery to the Carcar police station.
Ali told the police that while he was collecting payments from clients in the area, an unidentified man suddenly approached him then aimed an Uzi machine pistol at him and declared a hold-up.
The robber demanded from him the cash collection, which he estimated to be over P20,000 already by that time, then took his black 125-cc motorcycle with plate number YI-8307 and sped off towards San Fernando town.
Shortly after Ali reported the matter Carcar policemen led by SPO1 Oscar Cantoy tried to track down the robber but failed.
Carcar policeman, PO3 Zacarias Cabaluna, yesterday told The FREEMAN that Ali could not provide them the description of the robber, saying the robbery struck swiftly.
Investigators also failed to obtain details of the matter from any person at the crime scene who might have witnessed the robbery. - Norvie S. Misa/RAE
