March 25, 2007 | 12:00am
About 30 people participated in yesterday's soap making seminar held at the Everlight Chemicolor building on F. Gonzalez Street in Carbon Market.
The Ever Chemicolor Company, organizer of the seminar, sent to Cebu its Manila-based instructor Lilian Agulto to teach consumers, businessmen, and the youth on how to make their own soap of various kinds from inexpensive raw materials.
The knowledge in soap making would help the people manufacture their own soap, at the cheapest way, either for their household needs or for business, according to the organizing firm.
The topic was on manufacturing of laundry bar soap, multi-purpose powder laundry detergent, liquid dishwashing compound, fabric conditioner or softener, chlorux, liquid hand soap and car shampoo.
For the whole day seminar, each participant paid a registration fee of P1800 inclusive of raw materials for soap making and food for lunch. They also brought home their finished products.
There will be another and last seminar today, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the same venue at Unit 4 Martinez Building on 73 F. Gonzalez Street in Carbon Market. Everlight Company expects more participants this time.
The company plans to conduct every month more seminars in the city, and it has set one next month about perfume making. - Marigold P. Lebumfacil/RAE
