Police said the fatality's compatriots identified him as Kang Hong Saok, 49, of San Antonio Village, barangay Apas, Cebu City, but originally from Kyung Gi Do, South Korea.
SPO2 Rolito Jumao-as of the Lapu-Lapu City Homicide Section yesterday said the fatality is a facilitator and coordinator of a sports and entertainment company in the hotel.
Jumao-as said Kang shot himself with his .38 cal. revolver in the right temple with the slug exiting from his skull through the left temple.
His fellow Koreans told policemen that he owed P400,000 to another Korean who was not identified and repeatedly told them he wanted to commit suicide because of his mounting debt. Police were also told that he gambles in the casino daily.
The fatality was still breathing when found by his fellow Koreans who called the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation. He was rushed to the Mactan Doctors Hospital but did not make it there alive.
Recovered from the office was the gun used by Kang and his Samsung cellular phone.
Jumao-as further said that although they see no foul play involved, they will still conduct further investigation into the incident. - Norvie S. Misa/BRP
