Osmeña was earlier quoted as saying that delos Santos might accept the opposition party's offer for her to run for mayor of Cebu City because she needs money for the medical expenses of her sick father.
The mayor- also through the media-later apologized to delos Santos for the statement, adding that her father was a supporter of his father, the late Senator Sergio Osmeña Jr. The female barangay leader however junked the mayor's apology.
"Akong iklaro ni mayor Osmeña nga kun modagan man gani ko pagka mayor dili tungod sa kwarta kay dili ako mangayo og hinabang nga pinansyal gikan sa mga politiko kon mohukom ko nga molansar pagka mayor," delos Santos told DYLA radio in an interview yesterday.
Delos Santos said she was even confused on why the mayor apologized to her but later issued statements that her only motivation to run for mayor would be money, which the camp of congressional aspirant Jonathan Guardo has allegedly offered her.
Delos Santos declined however to say if those words from Osmeña would compel her more to challenge his reelection bid in the coming elections.
"Unya ra, pahibaw-on ta unya mo kon makahukom na ko. Wala ko mahadlok nga moatbang ni Mayor Osmeña," she said. - Rene U. Borromeo/RAE
