VECO announces power interruption

The Visayan Electric Company Inc. announced that there would be three to eight hours power interruption today and tomorrow in some areas in the cities of Cebu and Mandaue.

From 8: 00 a.m. to 11: 00 a.m. today, a portion of barangay Banilad, Mandaue City along Mango Green Road which will include Pasajero Motors, Zen Int'l. Corp., Mango Green Subdivision and Loot Compound, will have a power interruption in order for VECO to relocate poles and lines traversing a property.

A five-hour brownout starting from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon will hit a portion of barangay Lahug, Cebu City along Fulton, Marconi and Toralba Streets which will include PC Hills, JIVE Resto Bar, Globe Telecom and PNP Water Pump due to relocation of poles and lines.

On Friday, a six-hour power outage from 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. will hit a portion of barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City along Osmeña Boulevard, including Berovan Bldg., BF Paray Building, Cebu Medical Supply, City Public Library, Digitel Cab 003, Functional Inc., Golden Arches Corp., Josefa Realty Dev., Inc., JRS Business Corp., Ma. Cristina Bldg., Phil. National Red Cross, TGG Sales and Mktg., and Tokyu Dev. Corp., due to replacement of rotten poles and energizing of new primary line.

Starting 12:01 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. another brownout will occur in barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City along Kagapi Road, L. Jayme, S. Jayme, Paradise and E.C. Llenes Streets, Zones Okra, Monggos, Paliya, Pichay, Kalabasa, Gabi, Kamunggay, Kamote, Kamatis and Ube.

Other areas that will be affected by the power outage include Allied Ind'l. Corp., Antonio Bryan Dev. Corp., APY Cane Inc., C&G Compd, Cebu CL Properties Inc., Cebu Titan Surplus, Creative Home Furnishing, Destiny Cable, Exnowski Wrought Iron Tech., Faithope Ind., FOB Phils. Inc., Freeriders Int'l. Corp., King's Quality Foods Inc., Nissun Cup Factory, Onda Button Selling Phils. Corp., R&Y Augusti Inc., San Gabriel Inc., Shemberg, Sto. Niño Parish, Sucro Chemical Ind., Sun Pride Foods Inc., and World Wide Rattan Export, due to replacement of four rotten poles. - Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon
