The Cebu City Council has approved the program of works and estimates for the proposed façade treatment of the Senior Citizen's Center Building at the South Road Properties for the amount of P1,235,678.
During its regular session last Wednesday, members of the council unanimously approved the proposed resolution authored by councilors Gabriel Leyson and Rodrigo Abellanosa seeking the council's approval of the budget for the proposed project.
The amount proposed for the project was already endorsed to Mayor Tomas Osmeña, who approved it and endorsed it for the approval of the council.
Work for the project would include the supply of labor, materials, equipments, consumables, technical supervision of concrete moldings and stone casts. The budget would be used for the fabrication and installation of stained glass in metal frame. The Phase 1 of the Senior Citizen's Center was already completed last year while the second phase was started late last year.
On the other hand, the council also approved the resolution of Leyson and councilor Jocelyn Pesquera seeking to give authority to Osmeña to enter into and sign a contract with R.M. Mondares Construction for the partitioning of the offices of Department of Manpower Development and Placement, Commission on Elections, and Department of Interior and Local Government at the second floor of Ramos Public Market. Contract price will be P1,303,079.18.
The Bids and Awards Committee has recommended to the mayor to award the contract to R.M. Mondares to handle the project with the mentioned contract price.
Scope of the project will include installation of doors and windows, painting of the walls and carpentry works.
The city government is undertaking the construction of Ramos Public Market (Phase II) in barangay Cogon Ramos.
But even before the project is completed, the City Hall decided to make use of the part that is already finished by allowing some of its departments to transfer there. The partitioning (Phase I), will allow the DMDP, Comelec and DILG to transfer and occupy the second floor of the market ahead of the scheduled date of completion of the whole project. - Wenna A.
