Briton accused of hurting partner

A Briton was arrested by members of the Mobile Patrol Group after his common-law wife accused him of throwing a bunch of keys at her face yesterday dawn, hurt her left eye, left eyebrow and lips.

The incident happened at the residence of Allan Philip Gaskell, 48, a truck driver from Manchester, England, and Gladys Buenconsejo Noner, 39, of B. Aranas Extension, barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City.

Based on the report that reached the Women's Desk of the Cebu City Police Office, Noner alleged that her live-in partner arrived at their house past 1 a.m. yesterday.

Noner disclosed that the night before the incident happened, she and Gaskell already had a "misunderstanding over personal matters."

After opening the gate for Gaskell, they again had an argument and Gaskell allegedly grabbed the bunch of keys from Noner and threw it at her face.

Noner then called for police assistance and also for the possible arrest of Gaskell.

PO3 Leopoldo Sumalpong, of MPG Car 009, and PO1 Michael Estrosas who responded to the alarm arrested Gaskell and took him to the Women's Desk at the CCPO for investigation and so Noner can file charges against him.

Police are also preparing charges against Gaskell for violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act. - Edwin Ian Melecio
